About Black Sturgeon Lakes
Located just a short drive from downtown Kenora is the ruggedly scenic Black Sturgeon Lakes, a 10 kilometre-long, inland body of water, riddled with plenty of bays and islands. Known for its fine fishing, cottage amenities and recreational options, both upper and lower Black Sturgeon Lake areas offer seasonal and year-round cottages and camps, as well as vacant lots to suit every buyer. Handy boat access to the Winnipeg River system makes exploration of this part of Northwestern Ontario doable and easy. Cottagers who choose to stay ‘closer to home’ typically enjoy wakeboarding, waterskiing, and tubing. Golfers can boat or drive to Kenora’s renowned 18-hole Beauty Bay Golf Course, which is merely minutes away. While the upper and lower parts of Back Sturgeon Lake fall within the City of Kenora, the North East Bay (upper) area is considered to be ‘unorganized territory’.
